For the purpose of this document, Richard Murphy Ltd., T/A Catering Equipment Ireland  shall be known as the “supplier” “company”, “us” or “we” and the “customer” shall be the person or persons placing the order

We reserve the right to change these terms & conditions and your continued use of this website after changes have been made constitutes your acceptance of this agreement as modified

Our policy is one of continuous improvement, we reserve the right to change specifications to our products or services without notice.

The property in the goods shall remain with www.cateringequipment.ie until such a time as the invoice and any other invoices to be paid by the customer are paid in full, but the risk in the goods passes to the customer on delivery.

All prices given on our website and literature are given in good faith and are in Euro. We reserve the right to refuse any order at our absolute discretion.

We do not supply any goods on a trial basis, the customer should always satisfy themselves as to the suitability of a product for their requirements before ordering.



Our return policies apply to goods unused and as new, in their original packaging (external & internal) and with all instruction manuals.

There is a 25% + vat restocking charge on unpacked products. 50% + vat restocking charge applicable on products without packaging. Customer to pay transport costs back to our warehouse. No returns accepted after 30 days. Notice must be given in writing.

Special order and refrigerated goods may not be returned unless found to be damaged or faulty upon delivery.

The customer must arrange insurance with the courier when returning goods to cover possible damage or loss in transit for the full value of the item.

If we have to replace any lost manuals or packaging, the cost of this would also become payable by you the customer.

You will be refunded or credited within 30 days for goods returned under the above terms.

Where applicable carriage or postal charges are not refunded in the event of a customer returning goods under our 7 or 30 day return policies.



Free delivery applies to orders over €300 plus vat to one Irish mainland address. All items below this price incur a charge of €12.50

All goods must be examined upon delivery. We cannot accept any claims for goods signed for in good condition and marked unchecked. However if goods are damaged, please reject then an notify us immediatly.

A signature is required upon delivery for all goods.

Carriers will make delivery to the door (or site) but not locations within. Deliveries to addresses with a central receiving area will be delivered to that area. Goods are delivered to the receivers address but not necessarily to the named contact.

Should you fail to take delivery at the appointed address and time, goods may be returned to our warehouse or supplier. The costs incurred where goods are returned in relation to failed delivery attempts shall be passed on to you, the customer.

Claims for non delivery of goods must be made to us in writing within 7 days of the invoice date.

You must make sure that you have adequate provision and personnel to receive goods once off-loaded from the vehicle as the driver is under no further obligation from that point. You must make sure that you have checked all dimensions thoroughly and have adequate access for the goods being delivered, particularly large and bulky items. We reserve the right to charge for failed deliveries. Deliveries required at specific times during the day may be charged extra.

To comply with the legislation which came into effect in January 2007, regarding waste electrical and electronic equipment, we are committed to a safe and healthy environment. When such products reach the end of their lifespan, they must be put into a recycling system by your own waste provider or we can arrange this at a nominal fee to cover expenses.



Installation is not included unless agreed in writing. Please contact us for a quotation. It is always recommended to use professional quality engineers to install your new equipment.

The customer agrees to indemnify us against claims for defects caused to equipment by faulty or inadequate installation.

Water softeners must be installed according to the manufacturer’s recommendation. The products guarantee will be void if limescale or poor water quality is the cause of breakdown.

We strongly recommend site surveys if you are purchasing cold rooms, warewashing equipment, large items and any other items you are not sure will fit in or connect to your existing gas, electricity, waste or water supply.


Goods will be supplied with the manufacturer's warranty and will correspond with their description and specification being free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of 12 months from delivery unless otherwise stated in the product's description or agreed in writing by us.

www.cateringequipment.ie shall be under no liability under any warranty, condition or guarantee if the goods in question have not been paid for in full.

The Company shall be under no liability for any defects arising from incorrect installation, negligence, fair wear and tear, damage, incorrect use, or lack of maintenance including following manufacturer’s servicing recommendations.

Where applicable, parts and labour guarantee only applies to goods supplied in Ireland. Some manufacturers operate a “return to base” guarantee whereby the goods must be returned to them, the Company does not offer replacement or loan equipment in these cases unless otherwise stated.

Consumable parts are not covered under guarantee, these include bulbs, door seals, baskets glass and other breakables.

The Company endeavours to handle all service calls quickly and efficiently. If a customer requests a service call and no fault can be found with the goods, then payment for the call will be taken upon completion.

We will not authorise any warranty call/repair during the warranty period without the prior authorisation (to us) of the manufacturer. The manufacturer shall dictate the service arrangements.

Except in respect of death or personal injury caused by The Company’s negligence, the Company is not responsible for any consequential loss or damages connected to the breakdown or failure of goods supplied (including loss of business, contracts or profits).

www.cateringequipment.ie makes no warranty for goods or products not manufactured by us. These goods or products are covered only by the original manufacturers warranty if one exists. In no event shall we be liable for warranty/guarantee on any goods or products which we did not manufacture.

The buyer shall notify the Company within 2 days from the delivery date of any defect in the quality or condition of the goods or if the goods differ from their description/specification in any way. The Company shall have no liability for any defect or failure if the buyer does not report such a loss/defect within this time indicated.

In the event of any valid claim in respect of the quality or condition of any goods supplied by the Company that is notified under these terms then the Company reserves the right to repair or replace the goods or part in question, refund the price or part of the price of the goods at its sole discretion and shall have no further liability to the Buyer.

Goods replaced by the manufacturer during any warranty period will be guaranteed under the manufacturer's terms for the unexpired portion of the original warranty.

If a customer authorises a repair or work to a product within the manufacturers guarantee period that has not been authorised by us or the manufacturer then that repair/work may invalidate the product guarantee.

The Company shall not be in breach of contract or liable to the Buyer if any delay in supplying goods, or failure to perform any of its obligations in relation to the goods supplied was due to any cause beyond the Company’s reasonable control.

We shall have no liability for any failure or delay in supply or delivery or for any damage or defect to goods or parts supplied or delivered hereunder that is caused by any event or circumstances beyond our reasonable control (including without limitation, strikes, lockouts and other industrial disputes).


Should any of the conditions herein be in conflict with those of the buyer, these conditions shall prevail.

Placing an order by email, fax, telephone, letter, in person or internet constitutes acceptance of the above terms and conditions.

If the customer is dealing in the capacity of a consumer then these terms and conditions shall not affect their statutory rights

The price of goods for export/ overseas orders does not include transportation costs or import or export duty or documentation charges of any kind. The payment of which is the responsibility of the recipient of the goods

Age restricted goods are not for sale to persons under the age of 18. By placing an order for knives you are indicating that you are over 18 years of age or over.

Price Match Promise

We guarantee to match or better any advertised price in print or online by any other Irish based company – for the same product under the same terms wherever possible. Goods must be like for like, in stock, and not on special offer, graded or returned. Delivery terms must be the same as ours. Our Price Match Promise is run at our absolute discretion.
